My dear Mr. Romanes,

We intend to go up to London on the 20th, & I will call on you in the course of the next few day’s somewhat early in the morning.2

Yours very Sincerely | Ch. Darwin

Footnotes

Romanes had probably sent CD the first part of his paper ‘An account of some new species, varieties, and monstrous forms of medusæ’ (G. J. Romanes 1876–7), which he read at the Linnean Society on 6 April 1876.
CD delayed his visit to London. He stayed at the home of his brother, Erasmus Alvey Darwin, from 27 April until 3 May 1876 (CD’s ‘Journal’ (Appendix II)).
