Darwin Correspondence Project

To Raphael Meldola   26 March [1873]

Down, | Beckenham, Kent. [16 Montague Street, London.]

March 26th

Dear Sir

I write one line to thank you for your note.— Your exception almost proves the rule.—1 I hope that you will before long continue & complete your researches on mimetic forms.—2

Dear Sir

Meldola had provided CD with an example of sexual difference in the ocelli on the wings of a species of butterfly (see letter from Raphael Meldola, 24 March 1873 and n. 1).

Thanks RM for note on ocelli.
