My dear Sir

I am much obliged for your note, informing me that you have at length found a purchaser of the £600 Shrewsbury St. Act.2 I presume you will want the enclosed Transfers: anyhow I send them: I understand that I have to pay Transfer fee.— I presume I shall receive the half-years interest due on the 28th. inst.—3

I do not know whether Mr Wigley is aware that my Bankers, are Ms Robarts. Curtis & Co.4

There is a draft transfer in the Shropshire Archives (SA D3651/B/47/2/30). In his Investment book (Down House MS), pp. 1–2, CD recorded an interest payment on 28 March 1853, but did not record any transfer fees.
Charles Wigley was an accountant working with Salt. See also this volume, Supplement, letter to Charles Wigley, 21 March 1853.
