The enclosure has not been identified. Farrer visited CD in London on 28 March 1878 (letter to James Torbitt, [28 February 1878]), and possibly later.
CD planned to make revisions to his letter to Farrer of 2 March 1878 (see letter to T. H. Farrer, [4 March 1878]). CD had also been consulting Joseph Dalton Hooker about James Torbitt’s plan to breed blight-resistant potatoes (see letter to J. D. Hooker, [1 March 1878]).
Summary
Forwards letter from James Caird concerning funds for potato experiments. CD will correct his letter to THF [11389] and then forward it to Hooker for his opinion.
