To J. D. Hooker   [22 May 1847]1

Down Farnborough Kent

Saturday

My dear Hooker

I do not know whether this will find you at home, but if so & you are disengaged, shall I come for a few hours talk on Friday Morning next, stomacho volente,— Send me one line by return of Post, which I apprehend I shall get on Tuesday Morning, or at latest on Wednesday before I start.—

I hope Sir William is better; if not, of course put me off.

Ever yours | C. Darwin
