Hardwicke & Bogue

Publishers with premises at 192 Piccadilly, London, founded by Robert Hardwicke (1822–75). Following Hardwicke’s death on 8 March 1875, continued trading as ‘Robert Hardwicke’ until at least December 1875; trading as ‘Hardwicke & Bogue’ by February 1876. Name changed to ‘David Bogue’ in 1879. Specialised in medical texts and popular science. Established the Popular Science Review in 1861, and Hardwicke’s Science Gossip in 1864, and the Journal of the Quekett Microscopical Club.
