Edward Frederick (Frederick) Leveson-Gower

1819–1907

Politician and autobiographer. Third son of the first earl of Granville. BA, Oxford, 1840. Called to the bar, 1845. Liberal MP for Derby, 1846–7; Stoke-on-Trent, 1852–7; Bodmin, 1859–85. Visited Russia as attaché to the special envoy, 1856. Chairman, National School of Cookery, 1874–1903. Travelled extensively and studied political economy.
