George Hodge
1833–71
Naturalist and clerk. Worked as a colliery office clerk in Seaham Harbour, County Durham. Specialised in marine and freshwater Crustacea; published on echinoderms and pycnogonids. Member, Tyneside Naturalists’ Field Club from 1857; founded Natural History Club of Seaham Harbour.
