William Augustus Lane Fox Pitt (1880–1945)
1858–1945
Soldier. Son of Alice Margaret and Augustus Henry Lane Fox. Assumed the additional name of Pitt in 1880. At Charterhouse, 1868–75. Ninety-first Highlanders, 1879; Grenadier Guards, 1880. Retired as major in 1904. Served in the Zulu and South African Wars, and in the First World War. Lieutenant-colonel, Royal Welch Fusiliers. High Sheriff of Anglesey, 1911.
