Richard Wallace, 1st baronet (1842–1890)

1818–90

Philanthropist and art collector. Illegitimate son of Richard Seymour-Conway, Viscount Beauchamp, later fourth marquess of Hertford (1800–1870; ODNB) and Agnes Jackson, née Wallace. Owner of an Irish estate in Lisburn; MP for Lisburn, 1873–85. Donated a public park to the town. His and his father’s art collections form the Wallace Collection in London. Created baronet, 1871. Knighted, 1878.
