John Hugh McQuillen
1826–79
American dentist. Went into dental practice in Philadelphia in 1849. MD, Jefferson Medical College, 1852. Professor of operative dentistry and dental physiology, Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery, 1857–8; professor of general anatomy and physiology, 1858–62. Co-founder of the Philadelphia Dental College, 1863; professor of anatomy, physiology and hygiene. Editor of Dental Cosmos from 1859.
