Military officer. Ensign in the Ninety-second Foot from 1846. Kept one term at Christ’s College, Cambridge, 1848. Joined the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-arms in 1849. Director, United Kingdom Electric Telegraph Company, from 1860; of the Bank of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick, and of the London and Northern Bank from 1862. Secretary and treasurer of the Voysey Establishment Fund in 1871.
