Leopold Hartley Grindon
1818–1904
Botanist and writer. Employed as a cashier in Manchester, 1838–64. Lectured on botany at the Royal School of Medicine, Manchester, from 1852. Helped found the Manchester Field Naturalist Society. Wrote books on natural history, poetry, history, and theology.
