Philip Frank

1830–1913

Physician. MD, Berlin, 1853. Assistant surgeon in the army, 1855–62. Built up a successful private practice in Mentone, south of France, then Cannes, 1868–98. Served in the Anglo-American Ambulance in the Franco-Prussian war. Consulted by George Howard Darwin and Horace Darwin in 1873.
