James William Duncan

1835/6–1915

Colonial civil servant. Born in West Monkton, Taunton, Somerset, son of James Duncan, gardener. Draughtsman in Mauritius, 1865; assistant surveyor, 1862, surveyor from 1865 to at least 1873. Retired to Richmond, Surrey, by 1877.
