Martin Wilckens
1834–97
German agriculturalist. Studied medicine and natural science at Göttingen, Vienna, and Würzburg. Studied agriculture and economics from 1859; and managed the Pogarth estate in Silesia, 1861–71. Professor of animal physiology and animal husbandry at the Hochschule für Bodenkultur (high school for soil culture/cultivation), Vienna, 1872.
