James Bradley Thayer
1831–1902
American lawyer and scholar. Graduated from Harvard College in 1852; studied at Harvard Law School, 1854–6; practised law in Boston, 1856–74; professor at Harvard Law School, 1874–1902. Author of works in the fields of evidence and constitutional law, including Preliminary treatise on evidence at the common law (1898).
