Robert Aglionby Slaney
1792–1862
Reformer. MP for Shrewsbury, 1826–35, 1837–41, 1847–52, 1857, 1859–62. Commissioner on the health of towns, 1843–6. High sheriff of Shropshire, 1854. Fell through the floor at the opening of the International Exhibition and died shortly afterwards. Father-in-law of Thomas Campbell Eyton.
