Henry Potonié
1857–1913
German botanist and palaeontologist. Studied botany in Berlin, 1878–81. Assistant in the Berlin Botanic Garden and Museum, 1880. Palaeobotanist with the Prussian Geological Survey, 1885. Professor of palaeobotany at the School of Mines, 1891. Published on the flora of Germany and on palaeobotany.
