Thomas Conrad Porter
1822–1901
American botanist and pastor. Taught chemistry, zoology, and botany at Marshall College, later Franklin and Marshall College, 1849–66; professor of botany, zoology, and geology, Lafayette College, 1866–97; emeritus professor and curator of the museum, 1897–1901. Collected plants in Pennsylvania, northern Georgia, and the Rocky Mountains.
