Soldier. Entered the East India Company’s service in 1820. Served in the first regiment light cavalry of the Bombay Military Establishment. Lieutenant, 1824; captain, 1834; major, 1841; lieutenant-colonel, 1850. Retired with the rank of lieutenant-colonel in 1850.
