William Hugh Patterson
1835–1918
Irish artist and collector. Educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institute and Queen’s College, Belfast. Entered his father’s linen merchant and ironmongery business. An original member, and later president, of the Belfast Natural History and Philosophical Society; member of the Royal Irish Academy.
