Argentinian physician, politician, and vertebrate palaeontologist. Trained at the Military Medical Institute in Buenos Aires. Army medic in Chacomús, 1824; army surgeon major, 1826. Posted to Luján, 1828. MD 1844. Professor of the medical faculty, Buenos Aires University, 1848.
