Frédéric Baudry
1818–85
French philologist. Librarian at the agronomic institute in Versailles, 1849; the Arsenal, 1859. Later, assistant librarian and administrator of the Mazarine Library, Paris. One of the first to promote in France the scientific study of language as developed in Germany. Published several works on philology.
