William Masters
1796–1874
Nurseryman. Of Canterbury. Founded the Canterbury Museum in 1823; honorary curator, 1823–46. Conducted hybridisation experiments on passion flowers. Designed the formal gardens at Walmer Castle. Father of Maxwell Tylden Masters.
