William Martindale
1840–1902
Pharmacist. Took over the New Cavendish Street pharmacy of Hopkin and Williams in 1873; the business became one of the most important and scientifically advanced in London. Invented many new dosage forms for various medicines. His book The extra pharmacopoeia (1883) went through ten editions in his lifetime.
