Daughter of John Stevens Henslow and sister-in-law of J. D. Hooker. Married Robert Cary Barnard, an army officer, in 1859. Botanical artist; contributed plates to Curtis’s Botanical Magazine and Daniel Oliver’s Lessons in elementary botany (1864).
