Alfred Henry Huth
1850–1910
Writer and book collector. Travelled as a boy with the historian Henry Thomas Buckle. Studied at London and Berlin Universities. Of independent means. Married his cousin Octavia in 1872. Published The marriage of near kin considered with respect to the laws of nations (1875). From 1878, cultivated his father’s library. President of the Bibliographical Society, 1903.
