Thomas McKenny Hughes
1832–1917
Geologist, speleologist, and archaeologist. BA, Cambridge University, 1857. Worked for the geological survey, 1861–73. Suceeded Adam Sedgwick as Woodwardian Professor of geology at Cambridge in 1873. Responsible for the planning and building of the Sedgwick Museum of Geology. FRS 1889.
