Edward Morell Holmes

1843–1930

Botanist and pharmacologist. Registered as a pharmaceutical chemist, 1862; chemist in Plymouth until 1871. Curator of the Pharmaceutical Society Museum, London, 1872–1922. Lecturer in botany at the Westminster Hospital School, 1873–6. Lecturer in materia medica at the Pharmaceutical Society, 1887–90. Studied lichens, marine algae, and mosses.
