John James Aubertin
1818/19–1900
Traveller and writer. Superintendent of the São Paolo Railway, Brazil, 1860–9. Promoted the cultivation of cotton in Brazil; awarded a gold medal by the Manchester Cotton Supply Association in 1869. Met CD at Ilkley Wells hydropathic establishment in Yorkshire in 1859.
