Naturalist and surgeon. Of Stoke-upon-Trent. Surgeon to the North Staffordshire Infirmary, 1834. First president of the Staffordshire Branch of the British Medical Association. President of the North Staffordshire Naturalists’ Field Club, 1878. Specialised in anatomical work on invertebrates and vertebrates. Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, 1856.
