1849–1921

Eldest child of Francis Dukinfield Palmer Astley and his wife, Gertrude Emma, of Fell Foot, Staveley-in-Cartmel, Cumbria. Head of the household including her aunt, Eveline Mary Jones, and younger sisters, Constance Charlotte and Beatrice Emma, at 33 Princes Gardens, Brompton, London, in 1881. Married Arthur William Nicholson (1851/2–1932), a clerk in the House of Commons, in 1883.
