I have been surprised & very much pleased by your kindness in having sent me your new work, Literature & Dogma.2 I hope soon to read it with profit & interest

P.S. Since the above was written, I have just heard from Huxley with your very kind desire that I shd. not acknowledge your present; but I must have the pleasure of thanking you.3
