To John Chapman   1 February 1873

Down, | Beckenham, Kent.

Feb 1 1873

My dear Sir

I am very much obliged to you for your kindness in having sent me your work on Neuralgia; & I have no doubt that I shall find many points in it which will interest me—1

yours truly obliged | Ch. Darwin

Footnotes

There is a lightly annotated copy of Chapman’s Neuralgia and kindred diseases of the nervous system in the Darwin Library–Down (Chapman 1873; see Marginalia 1: 165). CD had tried Chapman’s ice treatment in 1865 (see Correspondence vol. 13, letters to John Chapman, 16 May 1865 and 7 June 1865). Chapman cited CD’s comments on wisdom teeth from Descent 1: 26–7 in Chapman 1873, pp. 184–5.

Summary

Thanks for Chapman 1873 (Chapman, John. 1873. Neuralgia and kindred diseases of the nervous system).
