My dear Sir
Pray accept my 〈 〉 for your very kind 〈 〉 for the help you give 〈 〉 learning something about 〈phyllo〉-taxy. Nägeli’s observa〈tion〉 seems to be import〈ant〉 and, if borne 〈out〉 by the 〈 〉 will make rather for th〈an against〉 my view, I conceive.1 For 〈 〉 suppose (till I find his own 〈 〉 he means that the bud in its earliest dissect-able condition 〈 〉—in the summer—has 〈 〉 leaves in some disorder. 〈 〉
