See letter from Edward Bartlett, 20 September 1871. Chenalopex jubatus is now Neochen jubata, the Orinoco goose. Chloëphaga magellanica is now Chloephaga picta, the upland goose. Sarkidiornis melanotos (‘Sarcidiornis melanota’ is a misspelling) is the knob-billed duck. Nettapus auritus is the African pygmy goose. CD recorded a payment of 17s. to Bartlett on 24 September 1871 (CD’s Classed account books (Down House MS)).
