Darwin Correspondence Project

To Eduard Koch   4 November 1869

Down, Beckenham | Kent [6 Queen Anne Street, London]

Nov. 4th. 1869

Dear Sir

I am much obliged for Dr. Dub’s work which I received two or three days ago.1 When next you communicate with Dr. Dub will you be so good as to say to him that I congratulate him on the completion of the work, & that I shall hope soon to read the greater part of it.

I have already written to Prof. Victor Carus on the subject of my new book & told him all that I could.2

I am glad to hear of the new edition of the Origin;3 I sent some time ago the new English edition to Prof. Carus; & the corrections will cost him a good deal of labour, for although the book is only a page or two longer I have struck out many passages & added others.4

Believe me, dear Sir | yours faithfully | Ch. Darwin
