The year is established by the relationship between this letter and the letter from E. A. Darwin, 1 December 1864.
Rocke, Eyton and Company were a banking firm with offices in Market Square, Shrewsbury (Post Office directory of Gloucestershire, with Bath, Bristol, Herefordshire, and Shropshire 1863).
The reference is to Edward Evans. See letter from E. A. Darwin, 1 December 1864 and n. 2.
Emma and Henrietta Emma Darwin sometimes wrote letters dictated by CD.

Sends a power of attorney to be executed and sent to the Old Bank; asks acknowledgment.
