My dear William
There were only 5 seeds in packet sent; these were all perfectly good—2
But do not bother yourself & count anymore; from long practice I can do it very quickly: I have counted about 30 pods of wild—20 of home-grown; besides my artificially fertilised pods.3 So I have had lots of counting! Next year I shall make 136 more crosses, so I shall have counting with a vengeance next year.—4
Good Bye | My dear old man | C. D
