216. A letter was read from Mr. Darwin2 & the Secretary instructed to write to him3 & request him to send a specimen plate to Mr Sowerby for the purpose of estimating the expenses of the plates to the cirripedes


Dated on the basis of the council meeting of 4 November 1850 and on CD’s reply to Edwin Lankester, 7 November [1850].

The letter has not been found.


In response to CD’s letter [see 1364] the Secretary is instructed to request that he send a specimen plate to James de Carle Sowerby for estimate of cost.
