My dear Sir,
I thank you cordially for your two letters on bloom which will be very useful to us as showing how much or how little is known about the distribution of plants thus provided.1 Your remarks seem very just with respect to evaporation & absorption.2 On the latter head we have made very few experiments as yet
The investigation has been a tedious & difficult one, but I hope that we shall be able to throw some little light on the subject.
