William Branwhite Clarke
Clergyman and geologist. Emigrated to Australia in 1839, where he carried out extensive geological surveys. Discovered gold in New South Wales in 1841. Incumbent of Willoughby parish, Sydney, New South Wales, 1847–70. FRS 1876.
