Daughter of John Bartlett Allen. Emma Darwin’s aunt. Married at Jeffreyston, Pembrokeshire, in 1799, Matthew Surtees (1755/6–1827), fellow of University College, Oxford; incumbent of North Cerney, Gloucestershire, 1792–1826; Kirby Underdale, Yorkshire, 1826–7. Living with her sister, Emma Allen, at Creselly House, Jeffreyston, in 1841.
