Pál (Paul) Kitaibel
1757–1817
Hungarian botanist, zoologist, and mineralogist. Qualified in medicine but never practised. Assistant to Jacob Joseph Winterl at the Institute for Chemistry and Botany, University of Pest. Became professor of botany after Winterl’s death in 1809.
