Friedrich Emil Suchsland
1808–1903
German publisher and bookseller. Head of the publishing firm Johann Christian Hermann’sche Verlagsbuchhandlung, based in Frankfurt-am-Main, 1836–68. Published Friedrich Rolle’s Ch. Darwin’s Lehre von der Entstehung der Arten (1863) and sought to publish a German translation of Origin in 1866.
