Georg Ossian Sars

1837–1927

Norwegian marine and freshwater zoologist. Son of Michael Sars. Professor of zoology, Oslo, 1874–1927. Introduced Norwegian students to Darwinian evolution through his lectures. Known for major works on both marine and freshwater crustaceans.
