John Fletcher Moulton, Baron Moulton
1844–1921
Mathematician and judge. Senior wrangler at Cambridge University, 1868. Fellow of Christ’s College, Cambridge, 1868–75. Called to the bar, 1874. Judge of the Court of Appeal, 1906–12. Member of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, 1912–21. Organised the manufacture of explosives and poison gas during the First World War. Created a life peer in 1912. FRS 1880.
