On going to London last week I found there lying for me the two first Parts of your great work, the Contributions &c &c.—2 I thank you most truly for this magnificent present; & feel much flattered & gratified by this mark of your esteem.— I have eagerly turned over the pages & plainly see that there will be much of the highest interest to me.—
