From E. A. Darwin 15 August [1859 or later]1
I have fallen upon a book in London Lib which may possibly be in your way. The Psychology of Shakespeare by Dr Bucknell, Editor of the Journal of Mental Science.2 The book is much narrower than it sounds, as he is pleased to say in his Preface that in modern usage, Psychology is confined to the science of diseases &c of the mind, but as he is a mad doctor, I suppose he has got to use the word technically. I have not read very much as it does not seem really to enter the
Wonders whether CD would be interested in a book by Dr Bucknell [J. C. Bucknill?] on psychology.
